Google Set To Lose $50 Million After Fortnite Bypasses Google Play Store
A report over on Sensor Tower has found that Google could miss out on at least $50 million in platform fees during the remaining five months of 2018. This loss comes after Epic Games decided to bypass the Play Store to avoid paying 30% of all revenue to Google.
Instead, Epic will provide the Fortnite app exclusively through its own website. Of course, Google may change their revenue system to avoid such a huge loss, but for now, it looks as though Google will miss out on all things Forntite.
